How To Submit Blogger Static Pages Sitemap To Google Search Console?

If you have read my previous article on “submitting Blogger sitemap to Google search console“, you might already know that we need to submit an XML sitemap to Google search console in order to have better indexing and crawling of our blog posts.

But in that sitemap there is a problem.

That sitemap does not contain links of your static pages. Static pages like:

  • About Me
  • Contact Me
  • Privacy Policy
  • Affiliate Disclosure
  • or ANY page you create.

Although, these pages are not SO important to index, but if you are like me who sometimes publish valuable content (like this and this) on “Pages” rather than “Posts“, then submitting a sitemap for static pages in Google search console is vital.

How can you access your Sitemap for Static Pages?

As you might already know, we create atom.xml sitemap for our blog posts, but in case of Static pages, Google has already created the sitemap which can be access by adding sitemap-pages.xml at the end of your blog address.

For example:

For Default Blogspot Domains:

[thrive_custom_box style=”dark” type=”color” color=”#f2f2f2″ border=”#e8e8e8″]
http://YourBlog.blogspot.com/sitemap-pages.xml[/thrive_custom_box]

For Custom Domains:
[thrive_custom_box style=”dark” type=”color” color=”#f2f2f2″ border=”#e8e8e8″]
http://www.YourBlog.com/sitemap-pages.xml[/thrive_custom_box]

Replace YourBlog with your domain name.

  6. Hit “Submit” button and you are all done!

Same method applies for all other search engines like Bing/Yahoo and Yandex.

Select Which Pages You Want To Index in Google

You can always decide which static page you want to get indexed in Search engines.

By default, each page will get indexed. But in case if you want to protect any page from getting indexed, you need to do some settings.

At the time of writing the page in Blogger editor, go to page settings (at the right side of the page) and under the Custom Robots tag first unselect the “default” option and then select the “noindex” option.

Those pages will be included in your sitemap but Google will not index them.

Whenever you want those pages to get indexed, just go back and unselect the noindex option from page settings. That’s it.

PS: If Custom Robots Tags option is not there in your page settings, then you need to first enable Custom Robots Header Tags from your blog settings.
